Not a single winner in League One's bottom six where bottom side Carlisle's defeat at home to Barnsley means the Cumbrians are one match nearer relegation.

Fleetwood and Port Vale both missed the chance to leapfrog Cheltenham, who did not play, suffering goalless draws at home to Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient.

Burton lost at leaders Portsmouth, but still managed to climb a place. That's because Cambridge were stuffed 6-0 away at Lincoln in Garry Monk's second match in charge of the Us.

It's as you were in League One after the top three all won tonight.

Portsmouth tick off another three points after seeing off Burton 2-1, the same scoreline by which Derby beat Reading.

Bolton were the big winners as they thumped Oxford 5-0 to remain on the Rams' coat-tails.

Barnsley climb to fourth after a 3-2 win at doomed Carlisle, but look at what is in store in the next few days.

It's fifth against sixth tomorrow as Peterborough face Stevenage, before on Saturday, Posh host Pompey and it's Derby v Bolton at Pride Park.

Steve Cotterill's Forest Green are a step closer to the Great Escape after Christian Doidge scored in the opening and the dying seconds to win 2-0 at Bradford.

Although they have played two more games, the win saw them climb out of the drop-zone and leapfrog Colchester who saw their game against Doncaster postponed due to an unplayable pitch.

Grimsby also picked up a massive win, seeing off MK Dons 1-0 which has hauled Salford into more bother ahead of their Thursday night game against Stockport.

Sutton are six points from safety, having played an extra game and with a worse goal difference after a 1-0 defeat at Crewe.

Without even playing, Stockport were the big winners tonight.

With Mansfield losing 2-1 at Tranmere and Wrexham thwarted in a stalemate at home to Harrogate, the Hatters now have the chance to go top, with a game in hand, when they face Salford on Thursday - which we will be covering right here, of course.

MK Dons missed the chance to climb into the automatic promotion places as they were stunned 1-0 at Grimsby and Barrow had to come from behind to draw at Walsall, with Crewe the only other winners in the top six thanks to a somewhat fortuitous goal against rock-bottom Sutton.

Oxford have shown a lack of belief. I can't work out what they are; they've not demonstrated what type of team they are tonight.

There was no pressure on Bolton's performance. It was outstanding individually and as a team. The intensity of the way they dismantled Oxford was fantastic.

After some indifferent recent results, this win reignites their automatic promotion hopes.

And what a time to get it with an away game against Derby to come on Saturday.

A night to forget for Oxford, who drop to eighth and must quickly regroup to try to salvage their own play-off hopes.

The board goes up to signal six minutes of injury time.

Not sure we need any as this game was settled a long, long time ago.

Portsmouth have got the job done. They were looking at tonight thinking this is a game they should win.

They were convincing through the majority of the match. Other than the Burton goal, they were worthy winners and it didn't look like they were really under threat.

The most important thing this time of year is winning and getting those three points.

Derby see this one out and it's a third successive win for the Rams at such a critical juncture.

Dwight Gayle and Conor Hourihane grab the goals either side of Sam Smith's equaliser.

Reading fail to move any further away from the drop zone - the gap remains five points for them.

Kusini Yengi's two goals bring up three more points for Portsmouth as they remain five points clear at the top of League One.

With matches against the rest of the top five still to come, this had to be a home win and they got the job done.

John Brayford's late goal made it interesting but Burton remain in trouble just above the bottom four.

Paul Mullin has lashed over the bar inside the box with the final kick of the game. Of all the people you'd want on the end of that one. Wow.

Credit to Harrogate - who surely have PTSD from their 9-2 shellacking at Mansfield. They have tamed the Dragons and earned a useful point.

Wrexham miss the chance to go level on points with leaders Mansfield.

Derby have the chance to kill this game off, but Joel Pereira produces a big save to deny Martyn Waghorn.
