MK Dons goalkeeper Craig MacGillvary wins the ball against Michael Spellman
MK Dons and Newport County ground out a draw in a game that was there for the taking if either side had found a goal spark.
A match that set 18th against 19th in League Two - Newport starting the day a point ahead on 47 - produced limited chances in a first half between two teams searching for a first win in six games.
Dons' goal threat was not helped by an early injury blow that forced Callum Hendry off after half an hour, with Danilo Orsi replacing him up front.
The game perked up after the break and Nick Townsend in the Newport goal was forced into saves by Jack Sanders and Laurence Maguire.
Connor Lemonheigh-Evans almost conjured a winner for the home side, but saw his effort at goal clip off the post.

Newport County head coach Nelson Jardim said:
"When you get a point away from home in a match like this it's always positive, especially in this league.
"But also stopping a losing run it's massive, but again we were hoping to get the job done today [be mathematically safe from relegation] and we still have to wait for Monday [at home to Walsall].
"Hopefully on Monday in front of our fans in our home we can get this done and it will be even bigger."
