It's just over a month since Nottingham Forest and Manchester City met in the Premier League and Nuno Espirito Santo's men earned a 1-0 win.

That was their first victory over City since 2009 when Forest ran out 3-0 winners in the FA Cup.

Here's a possible good omen for you Forest fans too.

Former defender Steve Cook believes Nottingham Forest will have a "fan advantage" over Manchester City at Wembley in their FA Cup semi-final.

On BBC Radio Nottingham's Shut Up And Show More Football podcast, he spoke about his experience playing for Forest at Wembley in the 2022 Championship play-off final against Huddersfield Town.

Cook said: "We knew the atmosphere would be leaning in our favour, and I think that will be the same on Sunday.

"The Forest players will know they have a fan advantage and it's huge. When we walked out it was like a home match, but bigger and better.

"The fans will have a huge part to play. They played a big part in the play-off final. They'll know because every home match they turn up, and you've seen how well the players have responded to it.

"The players in the play-off final knew how much it meant, and the players now will know."

What an opportunity for 18-year-old Zach Abbott.

The defender makes just his second appearance for Nottingham Forest this season. He also featured in the Carabao Cup defeat against Newcastle in August.

It looks like he is going to playing in a back-three alongside Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo.

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo makes two changes to the side that beat Tottenham on Monday.

It's a significant one at the back with 18-year-old Zach Abbott making just his third senior appearance - and first since August - with Ola Aina injured and Nico Williams suspended.

Callum Hudson-Odoi comes in for Anthony Elanga in the only other change.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola makes three changes from Tuesday night's last gasp victory over Aston Villa.

A surprise sees Kevin de Bruyne dropped to the bench, with Ilkay Gundogan also named as a substitute, while James McAtee is not involved.

In come Jack Grealish, Rico Lewis and Savinho.

I think clearly Man City are the favourites, but a few weeks ago Nottingham Forest beat Man City.

I was having a think about Phil Foden and I thought about the talent he has got. He has only grown up in an environment being about the team - it's not about individuals.

Then this happens, a dip in form. PFA player of the year last year, brilliant. He is established and a serial winner, but he doesn't have it in him to go off the leash because he is so disciplined.

Man City players all have to take ability for the season they've had. It's not just Phil Foden.

Today marks Manchester City's 28th match at Wembley since its refurbishment was completed in 2007.

They are also vying for a third consecutive final, having beaten and lost to rivals Manchester United in the previous two years.

"The fans cannot come because the situation is difficult for travel, the people are at work on Monday and maybe will be back late, the prices of the tickets," Guardiola said.

"I understand completely that they don't come. I'm pretty sure they would love to go."

But it's not just the price of a big day out at Wembley that is hitting the pocket of Manchester City fans.

Earlier this week, City ers staged a second protest outside Etihad Stadium before the Premier League game against Aston Villa on Tuesday and are planning further demonstrations over what they say is the club's refusal to increase the number of season ticket holders.

The group claims fans then have to pay up to £88 for an adult matchday ticket or up to £58 for a child, while tickets are then sold through third-party sites for inflated prices.

As the London marathon draws to its conclusion, across the capital the finishing line is in sight for those still standing in English football's own marathon - the FA Cup.

The first qualifying round started back on 2 August and we have just three teams left after Crystal Palace booked their spot in the final yesterday.
